Fraud Costing $1 billion U.S. a year to Google

Google pays to the site operators for placing its adds on there sites and pay them according to the clicks undergone. But since this Google’s AdWords program has launched it has been under constant criticism,  including advertisers asking for a clear picture of the effectiveness of their ads.

Google has declared that These fraud are costing about  $1 billion U.S. a year to Google. People are using special software to click an ad repeatedly to inflate a rival’s advertising cost or to fraudulently boast a site operator’s own revenue.

To protect its advertisers, Google uses various way to detect and sieve out invalid clicks. Google does not charge its advertisers, nor pay site owners, for invalid clicks.

 

 

Microsoft releases Office 2003 SP3

Office 2003 SP3 developed by Microsoft is now available for Downloading.

There are few extraordinary features which varies it from the previous versions and they are-

* SP3 enhances security by including recent and individually released   patches.
* Several new tools are included in the package like MOICE (Microsoft Office Isolated Conversion    Environment) and File Block

There are some changes in Office 2003 SP3 that might adversely affect systems and work flows through:

* Office 2003 SP3 now automatically tests and limits all COM components with potentially insecure functions.  It may disrupt the working of certain components or results in stopping them from work.

* Legacy file formats are also blocked by default

* It can interupt fast saving as Word 2003 has been disabled to protect against improper disclosure.

Health Checkup for Models

After death of models in series due to health factors, London Fashion Week models are asked to prove they do not suffer eating disorders. Models will have to present there health certificate from Doctors who specalise in eating disorders.

This does not mean they are banning the zero sized model but they will definitely bann the models below 16 years of age. These certificates – paid for by the models – would then have to be checked by agencies before the models could be taken on their books, the inquiry said.

Few report’s recommendations related to health certificate are:

# Models under the age of 16 should be banned from the catwalks at London Fashion Week and the ban should be rigorously enforced

# Criminal Record Bureau checks should be mandatory for those working with models below the age of 16

# From September 2008 models participating in London Fashion Week should provide a medical certificate attesting their good health from doctors with expertise in recognizing eating disorders
